How to get to the conference site and hotels


Participants from outside Japan can reach Matsue City, where the conference site is located, by domestic flights from several airports in Japan or by rail, but we most recommend taking a domestic flight from Haneda Airport to Izumo or Yonago Airport. If you are coming from Haneda Airport, please read 1 below. And if you are coming from other airports, such as Narita and Kansai Airport, please read 2.
 
1. From Haneda Airport to the conference site (Kunibiki Messe) and hotels
(1) via Izumo Airport (Recommended)
From Haneda Airport (HND) to Izumo Airport (IZO): There are five daily flights from Haneda to Izumo (80 min) operated by JAL (Japan Airline, Oneworld).

  

  

 

From Izumo Airport to the Conference Site (Kunibiki Messe) and hotels: Take the airport shuttle bus for Matsue City (to Matsue Shinjiko-Onsen Station via Matsue Station) or taxi. The airport shuttle bus leaves 10 min after each flight’s arrival (as soon as baggage claim for each flight is completed). Get off at Matsue Station if you are coming to Kunibiki Messe, Matsue Excel Hotel Tokyu, Green Rich Hotel Matsue Ekimae, or Hotel Route-Inn Matsue. If you are coming to Hotel Ichibata, get off at Matsue Shinjiko-Onsen Station. As for the return trip, the airport shuttle bus arrives at Izumo Airport 55 min before each flight’s departure.
   The shuttle bus fare from Izumo Airport to Matsue Station is 1,300 yen, and that from Izumo Airport to Matsue Shinjiko-Onsen Station is 1,400 yen. Payment can be made by ticket, cash (10,000 yen and 5,000 yen bills are not accepted), or credit card touch payment.
   The taxi fare from Izumo Airport to Matsue Station is estimated at 9,000 yen (30 min), and from Izumo Airport to Hotel Ichibata is estimated at 12,000 yen (40 min).
   From Matsue Station, it is a 7-minute walk to Kunibiki Messe, 3-minute walk to Matsue Excel Hotel Tokyu, 2-minute walk to Green Rich Hotel Matsue Ekimae, and 12-minute walk to Hotel Route-Inn Matsue. From Matsue Shinjiko-Onsen Station, one-minute walk to Hotel Ichibata.

(2) via Yonago Airport (Recommended)
From Haneda Airport (HND) to Yonago Airport (YGJ): There are six daily flights from Haneda to Yonago (80 min) operated by ANA (All Nippon Airways, Star Alliance).
 

 
From Yonago Airport to the Conference Site (Kunibiki Messe) and hotels: Take the airport shuttle bus to Matsue Station or taxi. The airport shuttle bus leaves 15 min after each flight’s arrival (as soon as baggage claim for each flight is completed). As for the return trip, the airport shuttle bus arrives at Yonago Airport 45 min before each flight’s departure. The shuttle bus fare from Yonago Airport to Matsue Station is 1,200 yen (45 min). Payment can be made by ticket, cash (10,000 yen and 5,000 yen bills are not accepted), or credit card touch payment.
   The taxi fare from Yonago Airport to Matsue Station is estimated at 8,000 yen (45 min), and from Yonago Airport to Hotel Ichibata is estimated at 12,000 yen (40 min).
   From Matsue Station, it is a 7-minute walk to Kunibiki Messe, an 18-mintute bus ride or a 10-minute taxi ride to Hotel Ichibata, a 3-minute walk to Matsue Excel Hotel Tokyu, a 2-minute walk to Green Rich Hotel Matsue Ekimae, and a 12-minute walk to Hotel Route-Inn Matsue.

(3) by rail
   We do not recommend taking the train from Haneda Airport to Matsue City. It takes about 7 hours.
 
 
2. From other airports to the conference site (Kunibiki Messe) and hotels
(1) from Narita Airport
   Participants arriving at Narita Airport (NRT) from outside Japan are recommended to transfer to Haneda Airport and come to Matsue City via Izumo or Yonago Airport by domestic flights. For the travel from Haneda to Matsue, please read 1(1) and 1(2) above. Please visit to the following website for specific transfer instructions from Narita to Haneda.

We do not recommend taking the train from Narita Airport to Matsue City. It takes about 8 hours.
 
(2) from Kansai Airport
   Participants arriving at Kansai Airport (KIX) from outside Japan can reach Matsue City by rail. Take the JR limited express “Haruka” from Kansai-Airport Station to Shin-Osaka Station, the JR Sanyo Shinkansen from Shin-Osaka to Okayama Station, and then take the JR limited express “Yakumo” from Okayama Station to Matsue Station. The “Haruka” departs every 30 minutes and the journey takes approximately 50 min. The Sanyo Shinkansen trains depart every 10-20 minutes and the journey takes approximately 50 min. The “Yakumo” departs every 1 hour and the journey takes approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes. For “Haruka” and Sanyo Shinkansen trains, both nonreserved and reserved seats are available, whereas all seats on “Yakumo” are reserved seats. You must reserve your seat on “Yakumo” before boarding. The train fare from Kansai Airport Station to Matsue Station is approximately 14,000 yen.
   From Matsue Station, it is a 7-minute walk to Kunibiki Messe, an 18-mintute bus ride or a 10-minute taxi ride to Hotel Ichibata, a 3-minute walk to Matsue Excel Hotel Tokyu, a 2-minute walk to Green Rich Hotel Matsue Ekimae, and a 12-minute walk to Hotel Route-Inn Matsue.
 
(3) from other airports
   In addition to Haneda Airport, direct flights are available to Izumo Airport from Fukuoka Airport (FUK, two flights daily) and Chubu Airport (NGO, one flight daily).
