Welcome to the 2nd International Symposium on Solid State Chemistry (ISSSC-2025)

The 2nd International Symposium on Solid State Chemistry (ISSSC-2025) will bring together leading researchers and experts from around the world to explore cutting-edge advancements in solid state chemistry. The symposium will cover a wide range of topics, including the synthesis of new materials, advanced structural characterization, novel electronic properties, and innovative applications in areas such as batteries, catalysis, and other solid-state technologies, as well as recent progress in mixed-anion compounds.

Building on the success of previous solid state chemistry conferences, such as those held in Nagoya, Japan (2017), and Ningbo, China (2018), the inaugural ISSSC took place in Guilin, China, in 2023. The upcoming ISSSC-2025 will be held in Shimane Prefecture, Japan, from December 1 to 5, 2025. Shimane, formerly known as Izumo Province, is a region renowned for its cultural heritage, ancient myths, and traditional tatara ironmaking. This unique setting is also home to “Kamiarizuki,” or the “Month of the Gods,” when, according to Japan’s old lunar calendar, deities from across the country are believed to gather in Izumo. Shimane’s rich history makes it an ideal venue for this international symposium.

We look forward to welcoming participants from around the globe to Shimane, Japan, for ISSSC-2025. Join us to exchange ideas, present groundbreaking research, and advance the field of solid state chemistry.
